Easy Recovery Essentials Reviews

I have a HP Envy DV7 Laptop With Windows 8 installed, upgraded to 8.1 then 8.1 Pro on a good quality Samsung EVO SSD Drive (upgrade from a traditional Hard Disk Drive). After several years of hard “on the road” use, due to repeated power issues when the battery catch broke and loosened the battery, the Boot Record was eventually corrupted and the system (C) drive would not boot despite the fact the boot drive is an SSD (destruction of the boot loader/sector is a fairly common Windows 8 scenario).

I tried just about everything else, including Windows 8 Auto and Command Line Repairs, DISKPART fixes, Repair BCD fixes and the other usual recovery routines without any success.

I had the original drive stored and multiple backups and several older disk images so I could continue to work from another disk while trying to repair this one when I wasn't working.

EasyRecovery Essential for Windows 8 repaired the Boot issues after one pass - when booted from the Bootable CD you can make from the ISO DVD/CD Image download.

Note you will have to enable Legacy mode form the UEFI/BIOS o this particular laptop in order to be able to boot from the Easy Recovery DVD or CD you create from the the ISO image you purchase.

The Easy Recovery environment will be a little confusing to some as it boots to a Linux/Unix shell while running many tests and checks before getting to the Windows-style interface from which you can run Automatic Repair. You should choose the C volume to repair, not the Reserved or hidden System partitions.

There were no issues with Easy Recovery fixing the Boot Sector issues or the Boot Loader and marking the C drive Active again so I could boot into the OS. All my C drive files, applications and my profiles were there when I did (in any case I have my data files on a secondary data drive, which is also backed up).

Following the repair sequence the Laptop immediately booted to the system partition / C drive and I was back up and running. No problem at all.

"Easy"

"Easy" as in, if you are a computer technician easy.

Lots of options, just very little information about what they do or how to use them.

Very disappointed!

Created an ISO disk but it doesn't work. How about some instructions for making it bootable.

Editor's Note:

Instructions are available in text, picture-by-picture, and video format at http://j.mp/EREUSB and http://j.mp/ImgBurn

I was desparate, and decided $20 after 3 hours of Google, bootrec, and bcdboot was worth a shot.

Best $20 ever spent -- burned the ISO to a CD, booted (slowly, it's a CD after all), ran the auto repair, and life is good.

This thing really works. Shame I didn't pick it up for free during the Windows 10 TP, but I really didn't plan on having my PC crash/burn the way it did... Highly recommended; as others have said, this is a real world review and recommendation. Do it sooner rather than later -- I wish I had my evening back!

Worked great!

I came across this through a search for a BIOS error code “0xc000000e” search (Computer wouldn't boot). I almost walked away as not comfortable buying online from unknown. However, I am very familiar with computers and mine wasn't going to get past open screen if I didn't do something. I bought the software, burned it to disk, had to go repair a lamp for neighbor came back an put the program through and Computer up and running nicely. It's the best 20 dollars I ever spent. Will get a lot of use on other computers I work on too! Thanks to develops of this great tool!!!

Wonderful Product

Your product was the answer to getting my desktop computer working again. I had been on the phone with the Microsoft “technical” team who rebooted my machine several times until it finally threw the blue screen at us. I was not happy when they responded that there was nothing more they could do and suggested I contact a local IT person.

I stumbled onto your website and wanted you to know how grateful I am. I downloaded the file, burned it onto a cd and rebooted my machine. Then I sat back while your GREAT product performed it's magic. It worked the first time and in my opinion is worth much more than the twenty dollars you charge.

Awesome!!!

My Primary hard drive was dying so I bought myself a new SSD for my computer and decided to do a fresh install of windows 10. I booted from the DVD I made from an image and set my 2nd boot to the new SSD in the bios (the first was the DVD drive). I left the old drive in so I could take information off of it, even though I made an image of it and put it on a different computer. I then installed Windows 10 Home on the new drive.

Because I am a little bit of a freak on appearance of Windows and I have a lot of programs etc. it took me the better part of a week to get it to where I wanted it. All went well, until the old hard drive failed. To my surprise the Boot Sector must have been on that drive (which I still don't understand why) but no I couldn't boot into Windows. I tried to recover but it said the drive was locked! (short version). I tried Googling the problem on my other computer but nothing seemed to work until I came across a link to this program.

With so many scams out there I was really hesitant to try it out until I discovered that these are the same people that made EasyBCD a program that I had used previously.

I purchased the Professional version and installed it to a USB Drive. Within minutes I was up and running again. This product worked very well for me and I would recommend it, in a heartbeat.

Thank you!

solved my windows 7 pro 64 problem in just a few minutes
Posted by Bigmetfan on July 5, 2016

well worth the price, even though a super computer geek might have figured out what was wrong and solved it through partition magic or the built in partitioning software in Windows 7, but I had no clue. I was playing with my partition sizes and suddenly my boot drive wouldn't load windows and I couldn't even get to the recovery section. I didn't have a DVD rom in the machine, so even if I had my Windows recovery disks, I couldn't do much. So I downloaded this on another machine, burned the ISO (it is totally automated and easy) and then put my hard drive in the other laptop, and booted from that machine's dvd drive. Presto, it fixed the partition and I saw something there about me making it not active, and then something about fixing my MBR, but the key point is that the entire process took maybe 10 minutes (I skipped the memory test) and when I popped the drive back into the original machine, I was up and running. Great expenditure of $20 - highly recommended!

Thanks!

I purchased the EasyRE and it fixed my issue with a Lenovo Yoga 3 Windows 8 with one click!

The issue I had was my Yoga 3 would not boot and displayed a message:

Your PC needs to be repaired

The Boot Configuration Date file is missing some required information. File:\BCD Error Code: 0zc000000d You'll need to use the recovery tools on your installation media. If you don't have and installation media, contact your system admin or PC manufacturer.

I like the product but it said you have to have a credit card

Doesn't work for every scenario

Just want to put another data point out there...EasyRE did not work for me unfortunately. When I booted it it said it could not access partition that Windows was installed on. I emailed tech support and they said to reinstall Windows without reformatting and recover data from the \Windows.old folder. This wouldn't work either b/c something was up with my Windows partition. I was able to recover the data with another software package, reformat the HD and perform a clean Win 8.1 install.

FINALLY!!! Something that really works!!!

I said to heck with it and risked the 20 bucks, but it worked flawlessly, I got the boot error after resetting my USB drivers and this neosmartmedia Auto repair worked like a charm on my Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 Dell XPS laptop.
