EasyBCD 2.2 Build 182 fails to open on Windows 7 32-bit

Not sure what this is about, I've been using v. 2.2 Build 172 ("beta"?) successfully, if you don't count the fact that I could not reset the master boot record successfully on a multi-boot system (Windows [default] and Linux [chain loaded]). I upgraded to version 2.2 Build 182 to see if it made a difference. When I tried to run 182, the main EasyBCD window would not open. I checked Task Manager ('all users') and noted that EasyBCD was actually running, I just couldn't see its window, and also, bcdedit.exe was also running (but not bootgrabber.exe).

I had to reinstall Build 172, and it opened as before, but I noticed in Task Manager that only EasyBCD was running, that is, bcdedit.exe was not running (showing 'all users'). So maybe bcdedit is part of the problem?

I was alerted to the presence of the two other programs when I did some web searching, and found the thread "EasyBCD Edit won't load using Win 7 64 bit" at this url:
https://neosmart.net/forums/threads/easybcd-edit-wont-load-using-win-7-64-bit.12659/ .
Uninstalling, clearing the config file under appdata\local\neosmart technologies\, and reinstalling did not help for me. I tried running EasyBCD at least a half dozen times with the same result each time: no window, could not see or do a thing!

Can you please post a copy of your BCD file or the output of "bcdedit /enum" and "bcdedit /enum all"?

Here are the two files, the first from bcdedit /enum, the second, from bcdedit /enum all.

Can you confirm this still happens in v2.3 beta? http://j.mp/EBCD2

I think I might know what this is about, but I'm not positive. That would help.

I downloaded and installed EasyBCD 2.3 Beta (2.3.0.197), and the the problem is gone. The window is opening normally, and neither bcdedit.exe nor bootgrabber.exe is running when I checked Task Manager after the window opened.

However, please see this thread:
https://neosmart.net/forums/threads...-windows-7-home-premium-on-acer-laptop.13822/
With the Beta 2.3.0.197, I ran "Re-create/repair boot files" and "Install Windows Vista/7 bootloader to the MBR", and the laptop still will not boot. (The two repairs do allow me to reboot using Alt-Ctrl-Delete on the blank screen with the fat blinking cursor, whereas after trying Windows Recovery automated repair, I cannot use those keys, but must physically turn the machine off then on to reboot. So it has some effect, just not the intended one!)

(Note: I found one other forum thread from 2012 with a similar problem:
http://www.sevenforums.com/installa...sing-invalid-unable-boot-without-boot-cd.html
His solution was to delete all partitions and reinstall everything; no one could figure out the problem! I am beginning to think I must do the same, as EasyBCD appears unable to fix the problem.)
