When to install EasyBCD
OK -- had an abortive and scary attempt at installing Ubuntu on my Vista machine this weekend - what a ride. Did NOT have EasyBCD and thought it was going to be a breeze. Was not!
So now, I have everything back to normal, think I know exactly which drive does what, and am wondering -- should I install EasyBCD before I install put the Ubuntu on, or hope that I can get to Vista after installing EasyBCD?
I'm scared, but crazy enough to try it again!

Hi yawlcome. Welcome to NST.
You should experience no trouble with booting into Vista after you use EasyBCD...at least assuming you don't happen to accidentally delete the Vista entry in the BCD!
If you need help with booting into Ubuntu from Vista's bootloader, then just let us know, and we will do our best to help.
Cheers.

What was scary ? Did you let Ubuntu default to overwriting the MBR and lose Vista ?
