Unable to boot using recovery disk
I downloaded the Vista 32 bit .ISO file and tried to boot my Gateway laptop with it but the screen came up saying Windows did not shut down properly and prompted me to choose Safe Mode(s) or Normal. No matter what I choose, I end up with a black screen and a cursor in the middle of it. This was what happened before I tried to use the Recovery Disk. Of note, the computer can be booted into Knoppix Linux so it will boot from a CD. I really want to get to the Restore process. Anybody else have this particular problem?
