Can EasyBCD make a boot menu of WinXP & Win7 after installations?

#1
My machine:
Acer Aspire One D150-1Bb
CPU:Intel Atom processor N280 (1.66 GHz, 667 MHz FSB )
RAM: DDRII 2GB
HDD: TOSHIBA MK1652GSX SATA 160GB 5400rpm

What I have done:
1. Changed SATA mode from AHCI to IDE & installed WinXP from a UFD.
2. Changed SATA mode back to AHCI from IDE & installed Win7 from the same UFD.

Current state:
1. Both OSs run smoothly if SATA mode is adjusted accordingly.
2. Shows boot menu of both OSs at the start state but only one boots.

My quest:
Can EasyBCD take it over & make a dual boot menu of both OSs?

Thank you very much!

Ah, somehow I took his post to mean that he's reinstalled to fix that.

OP: follow Terry's links. They'll set your AHCI modes straight. Then follow the EasyBCD docs.

Thank you very much!
Switching the BIOS state is too much for me.

Is there any easy way out? Is there an easier way to get a working dual boot system if I re-install both Win7 & WinXP?

I have had both Win7 & WinXP o a UFD and it is easy to install them.

Thank you!

If you don't care about losing your data, sure. Just set the AHCI to on, then re-install whichever one doesn't boot.

There is nothing to lose. I have had the hard drive wiped 2 or 3 times for trying the bi-system.

The OS which doesn't boot is the WinXP if the SATA mode is set to AHCI in BIOS. And it doesn't install either.
1. Install from a UFD and add SATA drivers from a USB floppy drive by pressing F6, BSoD ends the installing after copying the files.
2. Install from a USB CD-ROM and add SATA drivers from a USB floppy drive by pressing F6, the same BSoD pops up.

Here are the drivers downloaded from Acer:

The name of the folder:
IMSM_Intel_v8.0.0.1039 XPx86

The contents of this folder:
INTEL ICH7R/DH SATA RAID CONTROLLER
INTEL ICHM DH SATA RAID CONTROLLER
INTEL ICH8R/ICH9R/ICH1R OR SATA RAID CONTROLLER
INTEL ICH8M-E/ICH9M-E SATA RAID CONTROLLER

Do you have any ideas how to install WinXP in this case?

Thank you!

The first link I gave tells you how to get XP installed without AHCI, then enable it afterwards, to fix your specific problem.
