A window pops up:

Error opening file for writing:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Neosmart Technologies\EasyBCD\EasyBCD.exe
Click Abort to stop the installation, Retry to try again, or Ignore to skip this file.

It went fine in XP, but not in Windows 7.

That means EasyBCD is currently running. Turn it off before upgrading.

iReboot shouldn't have a lock on EasyBCD.exe

Is this a multi-boot on the same machine? If so I'm wondering if installing EasyBCD in both OS's is messing things up somehow as there is only need to install it on whatever system is the main boot. iReboot goes in both though.

It should be fine to install EasyBCD on multiple Windows on the same machine, I'm not aware of any reported bugs w/ that (though the potential does exist, and there have been, in the past, bugs stemming from this).

I was just theorizing really as I've never tried it on mine (5 systems at last count). I have EasyBCD installed only on C: which is my main Vista.

Yeah, usually that is good enough. However in cases where the user installs XP after Vista/7, they need to install EasyBCD on whatever system they can boot into (XP, in this case), even if EasyBCD were already installed on Vista/7 previously.

OK, thanks.
