I would like to get this hard drive to run on Ubuntu Studio, but when I go to the step to define the partitions, the partition table shows only 375 GB out of 2.72 TB. I don't know why my external drive would only be allowed only 375 GB of space to install Ubuntu Studio. Do I need to format this external drive as a GPT file system so Ubuntu Studio can recognize all the space on it?

I know it seems stupid, but here are my computer specs: 1 GB (about 128 or 256 MB of RAM is used for video), a 320 GB hard drive with 298 GB space available after Windows Vista OS installation, and currently has 265 GB free out of 298 GB.

My External drive is a Toshiba Canvio 3 TB and the model number is HDWC130XK3J1

If any of you who are on this forum have had similar problems please let me know if you have any solutions!

Not sure in your case but I've run into a number of applications that don't do well with large GPT formatted drives. The workaround has been to reformat into partitions less than 2TB and use NTF.
Hope this helps
