Microsoft kills patch notes, will no longer explain most Windows 10 updates

"When Microsoft debuted Windows 10, it began offering significantly less information about KB updates in any given package. Instead of getting a clickable link that provided more than a bare sentence of information, users have to manually search for KB articles based on the given name. While this isn’t difficult, it’s an example of how Redmond has made it a bit more difficult to know what the OS is doing or why it’s doing it. Now, the company has stated that this obfuscation isn’t an artifact of a rushed launch — the company will not explain feature updates unless it deems them significant."

I guess they figure there's no point in explaining them when they've removed any option to choose whether to apply them or pass.
If they're going to apply it whether you want it or not, there's no point in elaborating what it's for.

Actually there's an "App" one can download for 10 that allows updates to be hidden. I used it and it was interesting in that it picked up the ancient ones I'd refused in Win 8.1 prior to the upgrade. Stray registry keys or logs I guess.
First you have to set WU to Notify first or at least NOT install automatically which can be done in several ways, see: http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/...atic-updates-enable-disable-windows-10-a.html
Then you need to download this: http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/8280-windows-updates-hide-show-windows-10-a.html
I put "" around the word App simply because it is almost like an app but not quite.
It's put out by Microsoft by the way so quite genuine. I did ask elsewhere why they simply couldn't include that option in WU and the opinion was that too many updates were being hidden by too many people resulting in too many unstable & unsafe systems.
In my case and I am sure many others, it was out-of-date drivers and software that MS would insist one needed.
