Vista

Hiya,

First I'd like to thank for creating great software for free and helping the community. Now the problem is as follows;

I have Windows Vista installed on my Dell 9400.
Three partitions
C: Vista
D: Data
E: Opensuse

Since the reboot after installing suse, and entering all relevant entries, I can see the menu but it gives an error saying some file is missing.

The trouble is, no matter whatever I do, EasyBCD doesnt create a file in my C:\NST\ folder at all :dead:

I ave tried removing, re entering the entries but nothing works.

Any idea what to do to make it work?

Or could I just use NeoGrub but what would be my profile file? I am using Opensuse 10.2

Thanks in advance.

By the way I have used instructions from this website

http://www.grape-info.com/doc/linux/config/vista-opensuse-dualboot.html

Did you install GRUB directly to your EXT3(Linux) partition?

Try my little HOWTO under the Vista Bootloader section: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=434357

That section should work for most any linux distro.

I am definitely surprised that nst_grub.mbr did not get created when you added the entry. I can only see that happening if there were permissions problems when it tried to extract and write it, or it simply isn't there. Oh well try it manually using bootpart or get a hold of Computer Guru to see if you can get a copy of EasyBCD 1.6.

Yes I did, like the link I have posted to the tutorial. The GRUB should be installed to the root partition (E in my case)

nst Grub_mbr doesnt get created for some reason which I dont know either. It created NST folder but then nothing in it. I am sure there are no permission problems as I have given full control rights to all users for that folder.

Hope computerguru can help me out if possible.

Thanks
