I realized that the recovery partition has only the file revery manager and not system recovery. Only option now available is to get the system recovery DVD from HP. I've learnt so much during the past few days I've interacted with you all.

I'm actually using a different notebook to connect to the net. I can't connect using the HP notebook.
I don't have vista installed at the moment. I do have the recovery files on the recovery partition but unfortunately did not copy to DVD or CD...

After following a previous thread on this site I was successful in dual booting my notbook (Vista & XP). Now the problem I've got is getting device drivers to install on my XP partition. I've spent the past two days searching the web for drivers. So far all the drivers I've come across...
Gone through the posts below but I'm having the same problem eventhrough I've tried following the steps advised.
My Vista is installed on c:\ while the XP is on d:\windows.
When I try to logon to XP thats when I get the error message.
Invalid BOOT.INI File,
Booting From c:\windows...
