Triple Boot, Win7 (32bit), XP, and Ubunto 10.10

Hi Guru and Terry, I think I may have asked this before, but can you give me some simple instructions for the following: I currently have Win7 on one disk (my master disk - mbr etc), and Windows Xp on a second disk. I have EasyBCD2.2 which now just has the Win 7 entry on it because I control the...

    WinXP & Windows 7 SP1

I also have a problem since updating windows 7 to SP1. I am dual booting XP and Win7 on separate drives, and have easybcd but also use the Vista HidenSeek as the boot manager. Now when I start up the computer, it goes directly to windows 7 start up screen with the 4 colour win 7 logo then...

Hi I have a similiar query. I currently dual boot windows 7 pro with windows XP pro. Dual Boot W7/XP

I would suggest you check this forum for Vista hide and seek (also for W7, just old name), this will hide 7 partition when in XP and also prevents your W7 system restore points being removed by XP. Mike

    IE8 problem in Win7

I think the problem is a lot of resellers are selling the 64bit version of win 7 because the manufacturers seem to be pushing it. this should be checked out thoroughly before purchase. The typical sales question you will get from a typical reseller (no names) is what do you want 32bit or 64bit -...

    BCD2.0.2 for XP and Ubunto

OK after the research I thought I would report how the problem was fixed, just in case it helps anyone else. Problem was: I had winXP/ubunto/ubunto swap partitions on first drive. WinXP had to be reimaged so I lost the initial grub boot into xp or ubunto screen. I am using Ubunto 10.04LTS...

    BCD2.0.2 for XP and Ubunto

Thanks CG, that seems a good idea. M Addendum: Just a quick one, booted with Ubunto 9.0.4 cd which gives 2 choices try i.e. run from memory and install. Running from memory and using help file to redo grub didnt work on reboot guess it fixed the virtual grub not the one on the hard drive...

    BCD2.0.2 for XP and Ubunto

Hi Guys: I have recently had to reimage a windows xp partition back to my spare computer. On this one I have C: for xp and there are 2 other parts on the same drive for Ubunto and Ubunto swap files. So I want BCD so that I can boot to xp and ubunto, I can only at the moment boot to xp. Installed...

No icons or taskbar just desktop wallpaper?

I would also suggest, first. When booting, make sure that every peripherial is disconnected, such as web-cams, networks, sd cards etc. Windows boots loads of drivers at different times in the boot cycle, anything can cause it to hang at any stage before going into a full desktop. M

Have you tried the Vista repair disk available on this site, which is the one you should have made when you installed the system.

[Download] Vista Hide 'n Seek BETA

Uploaded my config from the Win 7 side, doesnt show a lot. Strange thing is, windows xp is disk 1 and windows 7 is disk 3 when you look at the actual sata cables to the mobo. The virtual rendition continually changes. Mike

[Download] Vista Hide 'n Seek BETA

Pity it wasn't universal then it could be incorporated as a fix in bcd, and hns could be retired :)
