Can't make EasyBCD run from WinPe1,2,3

Easybcd works fine in my winpe4 media. Not easy to make it though. You should find it easier to make winpe3 media. That should boot just fine if you write both bios and efi bootsector to the iso. Secure boot can be turned off. I understand the Linux foundation has a pre boot loader which...

Can't make EasyBCD run from WinPe1,2,3

Yes, net bloatwork is a nuisance. I don't know if wimb ever got it working in his project - sadly, it only supports win 7 sp0.

Can't make EasyBCD run from WinPe1,2,3

Entirely in keeping with your post - any mug can make one , you said. Running natively is a different thing. I don't know if Mahmoud is able/willing to rewrite the whole thing using a completely different language. I expect that would extremely difficult - otherwise, he would have done it...

Can't make EasyBCD run from WinPe1,2,3

Easybcd does run in winpe. I have in 32 and 64 bit pe 3.1 and also in pe4. If you think it is that simple - what are you waiting for.

Can't make EasyBCD run from WinPe1,2,3

Yes, I would be interested to have a look at that. I can't see how you can system restore going in linux either. Users can always browse to the sys32\config\regback directory - if they are lucky there will hives that are not 0 bytes - those be copied to sys32\config. I have done that quite a...

Can't make EasyBCD run from WinPe1,2,3

I don't have it direct from MS. However, Paragon told me that software vendors will no longer be allowed to provide winpe downloads - after the expiration of their current license. I guess that means everybody. It will be interesting to see what you can come up with Linux wise.

Can't make EasyBCD run from WinPe1,2,3

MS have changed the licensing terms for winpe. We will have to wait to hear from Mahmoud - but I am not holding out much hope. You will have to make your own.

    Windows 7 Recovery Discs Download

You could see if the cd boots on another machine - the machine you used to burn th iso for example. If it does - then the cd is fine. In that case, problem is with the sick machine - the optical drive, possibly. You need the bit version that is the same as the o/s on the machine you are...

Windows 8 Boot Menu - here's how to select text or ui

Yes. Works every time on my system. I expect this will be the most asked for feature. It is a damn nuisance rebooting if you select an entry that is not win8. It seems bootmgr loads part way into 8 so it can run the ui executable. I don't know what the point of that is - perhaps just...

[FIXED] Manual Bootloader Selection option not working (Build 145)

Not sure it helps. Bcdedit took longer. It also took longer with the fast opening build. In fact bcdedit was the same speed with both the quick 2.03 build, and the slow 2.1 ( not surprising.) Bootgrabber was also about the same speed with both builds. Don't think either of those is...

[FIXED] Manual Bootloader Selection option not working (Build 145)

Hi Mahmoud, The newer builds e.g. 145 and 146 take an age to open for me. I just reinstalled 2.03 120 - that opens in under 3 seconds. Newer builds take more than twice that.

Windows 7 Recovery USB key not booting

That looks like it should work. Have a look on the usb and see that all the files are present. If they are, try running bootsect /nt60 z: replace z with your usb driveletter. You will find bootsect on the Vista or 7 install dvdv - it is also in windows\system 32 on your usb drive. It is...

How do I fix: "Selected entry failed.. \NTLDR missing or corrupt" ???

KB - disk drive numbers may not correspond Don't know what is going on with the partitions - you imply you had far fewer before ? Perhaps if you post a screen of disk management it would help.
