Easy BCD does not start anymore

Hello,
I used the "free" version for long time with success.

I requested to start my version but nothing was happening.. so I decided to install the latest version .. free
BUT same result : installed, selected the link but it does not start

Win 10x64 Dual boot
Recommendations?
Thanks in advance

On second thoughts surely you don't want the Interface to open every time you boot?
Installing iReboot on each partition and making sure that's in the Startup items and then everything should work automatically.
iReboot gives a quick way of booting between OS's.

If you are referring to the choice of OS's that should appear in "Post" (boot up) then maybe the timout ius set to zero or a very low number.
That can be altered in EasyBCD's Edit Boot Menu - Menu Options section.

Hello,
Thanks for answering;

The "add, delete, enable … " did not help me.
I try to start with "run as administrator" same result .
When I select EasyBCD I receive a popup (see attached) I reply "OK" and nothing happens.
Is there a log? somewhere?

You should get a UAC prompt after clicking OK. When you downloaded EasyBCD did you click ther middle choice: Commercial Edition? Are you using it in a work environment and what OS is this on?

Hello Ex_Brit,
This is my home computer , I did click the "non commercial", I run Win 10 x64 latest update.
Thanks in advance

OK have you disabled UAC by any chance? The reason I ask is that your screen should go darker when OK is pressed and then a UAC prompt (to run it as the Administrator)

Hello Good morning ,
I have changed the UAC, the "run as admin.." is checked.
When I select Easy I receive the "black" screen" "Do you want to allow …" I select yes, I receive the same popup as attached in previous topic replay, I select "ok" and no answer … no reply ..Pc is running normally

Thanks for assisting
Emile

Sounds like one of the EasyBCD sub-routines is hanging for some reason.
Is there something in the event log ?
You never need to run EasyBCD as admin.
It elevates itself where needed.

Hello,
I cleaned the log, I started the Easy and same negative result as explained before.
I found 2 new entries in the event log , see attached ...

Hope it helps

As I have a Dual boot I tried to run Easy on my 2nd system and same negative result.

A search on Kernelbase.dll errors sems to point to a corrupt user profile.
Try uninstalling EasyBCD, delete the Neosmart folder in your /Windows/User/yourname/Appdata/local folder
then reinstall EasyBCD

Hello Terry,
I have done as requested … Same negative result
More to test? Just ask

Only the author knows the depths of the internal sub-routines and services.
It'll need him to turn up and suggest further action. Sorry.

No, it behaves no differently.
How to Add Programs, Files, and Folders to System Startup in...
  1. Press Windows+R to open the “Run” dialog box.
  2. Type “shell:startup” and then hit Enter to open the “Startup” folder.
  3. Create a shortcut in the “Startup” folder to any file, folder, or app's executable file. It will open on startup the next time you boot.

Hello,
GOOD News after the "Updates for Windows 10, version 1903 and Windows Server, version 1903" installed the EasyBCD WORKS ….:dizzy::smile:
