A direct quote installing XP error message on Windows 7 64 Bit system

I left Windows 7 hooked up followed directions to the letter. I QUOTE. If problems continue, disable or remove any new installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select advanced startup options, and then select safe mode. This here lies the problem. I have new hardware sound card that does not work in Windows XP and video card drivers that will not work in XP (but need to run Windows 7). Just to name a few. With this said not only hardware but also software is manufactured to keep you from using anything but Windows 7 or later. The system would not boot and I had to place in the windows 7 disk and repair. Any way of getting around these problems? During install of XP I did not pick quick or full NTFS partition I kept the same, errors out. Second time I pick quick NTFS format and it still errors out with above message. Any help out there?
