boot loader

I had two drives A, B with the boot loader on A offering A, B in the style of a blue screen with two large tiles for the two win10 operating systems sysnameA and sysnameB. I went back in a couple days later and (1) changed the order shown from <sysnameA, sysnameB> to <sysnameB, sysnameA> (2) changed the default from sysnameA to sysnameB and (3) I renamed these as well. I clicked Save and restarted the PC and to my surprise the boot menu was the old DOS-like screen style with a black background with white letters. But it worked. Still, not seeing the blue background style screen with "tiles" made me wonder if did something wrong. Can anyone explain this behavior? Using latest version downloaded 10/26/2019.

On the Edit Boot Menu page, tick "Use Metro...."
(That's what MS called it till someone claimed prior copyright to the name)
