EasyBCD BIOS Extender doesn't work

I have installed EasyBCD BIOS Extender on a HP Pavilion 6000 running Windows 7. Although it shows up as an option in Windows Boot Manager on start up, when it is selected there is a message that "Windows failed to start", then

File: \NST\AutoNeoGrub0.mbr

Status: 0xc000000f

Info: The selected entry could not be loaded because the application is missing or corrupt.

I am attempting to run DBAN from a flash drive (as there is no CD/DVD drive available) that I used Rufus to format as a bootable USB.

Any advice on how to get DBAN to run from the USB flash drive would be greatly appreciated.

I guess I should have asked: what version of EasyBCD did you create the entry with?

(the answer may or may not be the same)

I only downloaded version 2.4 so assume that was the version used to create the entry. I'm somewhat of a novice, so if there is a way to check and confirm, would be happy to do so. Thanks for your help.
