error booting Windows 7 home premium 64

Hi,

I've tried and tried the EBCD options to resolve but this problem is still present when I boot this OS.
When I boot Win 7 home premium 64 the screen become black with an error and windows suggest to use my OS cd to resolve and recreate the boot file(but doing so don't resolve) so I press "enter" to boot again, sometime the starting menu appear soon at first boot attempt but sometime I must do this operation (press enter to reboot) 3 times before a good boot is executed and so finally I can access the windows 7 desktop.
Sometime also a bluescreen appear and reboot when the star appear at start of windows.
I have only 1 operating system for the moment I don't need the multi OS menu.

This is the error that appear on black screen:
=======================================================
FILE: \BOOT\BCD
STATUS: 0xc000000e

info: an error occured while attempting to read the boot configuration data.
=======================================================

How resolve this fatal error forever?

thanks!

Hi,

tried to reset the bootloader with EBCD work and boot normal but then after 4 boot the error appear again.
The problem is that I can boot into windows 7 64 but for an unknown reason the boot sometime make this error as above.

Thank you

You could possibly have an infection which attacks the boot sector (run MS malicious software removal tool to eliminate that possibility), or possibly a bad spot on your HDD which happens to be in the boot sector.
Run a chkdsk /r on the HDD so that it can take any bad blocks out of use and then see if repairing the boot files sticks.

Hi,

I use a SSD Samsung hd and this hd is used only for Win 7 64bit OS.
The chkdsk/r option is valid also for this ssd hd?
As I read in the Samsung manual the defrag utility is disabled for default
because this type of hd is completly different and don't use clusters and blocks to save data
but memory. Now I don't know if chkdsk work on this hd, please let me know.......

Thank you

I have no SSD, so I hadn't had to think about the implications of chkdsk on such a device, and whether it would be necessary.
A quick web search would seem to indicate that it is still a relevant factor.

Hi,

tried the chkdsk (right click on C:\ is the SSD drive then property) I've choosed the scan disk tool then a restart of Win 7 to activate the scan for errors.
Don't resolve, please let me know if is sufficient or is necessary do a chkdsk using the DOS commands prompt.

Thank you

You should be able to do it either way, but from a DOS prompt you need the /r parameter, or the equivalent if you tell it to run at the next boot is to tick the box to repair, not just detect problems.

I tried to put two check marks in the window scan disk, but also doing so the error remains.
Sometimes I get a blue screen at the exact moment when it appears the star of windows 7.
Can you tell me please how to block the message bluescreen?
Anced whenever the computer is soon reset and you can not read the error message.
Perhaps this BS error for an unknown hardware problem is the main cause of boot error.

Thank you

As soon as the BIOS splash screen disappears (on a single OS system), or immediately after selecting the OS (from a multi-boot menu), start tapping the F8 key repeatedly.
That will interrupt the boot chain and prompt the display of the Extended Boot Menu.
On there, you will see a "No automatic restart" option.
Pick that and the BSOD will halt at the error code, instead of rebooting before you get a chance to read it.

Hi,

i've tried BCD\Backup repair> reset BCD configuration in safe mode........I hoped this work I've think that in safe mode win 7 uac is not active so possible modifications in the boot sector was possible but isn't so, this damn boot error always appear. Now more of 3 times I must restart my pc to have a good boot.
In BCD deployment is MBR configuration options that button "write MBR" can repair the boot sector on my SSD drive or is not useful?
I read in the EBCD manual that MBR sector is the first code that is used when the OS is started perhaps the problem is THERE!

thank you

Hi,

At the moment no BSOD appear, but to start win 7 is necessary now to boot 2 or 3 times sometime to have a successful boot.
The scenario of this supposed BSOD is this:
when Windows 7 starts up, it draws a star about half of this drawing, the drawing stops and for a split second you see for a moment the blue color of the BSOD and soon the autoreset happen, the BSOD is not full screen you can't read nothing you see only for a while the blue color in the middle as a line. Its 'a bit of time that this BSOD did not appear anymore, there is only this error boot.Today I've done a boot so:

started pc then press F8 to enter the boot menu of my asus MB and appear the list of boot devices; I've choosed HD SSD and then I press enter.
Soon the boot start but when the win 7 star is drawing the draw stops and this BSOD appear for a split of second and soon the autorestart.

Please let me know if "write MBR" is useful or not to resolve.

Thank you

I've tried but don't work in my menu appear only: start windows normal, in safe mode, normal but with command prompt, and normal with network support this option no automatic restart is not visible.

Don't start trying to cure a problem before you've worked out what it is.
That route mostly leads to a steadily worsening situation.
If you can still boot the system, then there's another way to stop the automatic restart.
My Computer (right click) > Properties > Advanced System Settings > Startup & Recovery > Settings > Automatic Restart (untick it)

Hi,

The error is:

Stop: 0x0000007B (0xFFFFF880009A9928,0xFFFFFFFFC0000034,0x0000000000000000,0x0000000000000000

the blue screen message tell me that a probably virus is the cause and do a CHKDSK /F scan for hd corruption.

how proceed?

thank you

I mentioned the possibility of a virus back in post #4.
Do you have proper anti-malware protection ? e.g.
Microsoft Security Essentials - Microsoft Windows
YES, is MSE
and did you run the Windows MSRT ?
Malware, Malicious Software Removal Tool, Protect Your Computer YES every month MS load a malware remove in my pc

Does this apply in your case ?
Error message occurs after you change the SATA mode of the boot drive tried but don't work the MS fix

here the total message that appear in the blue screen:

check for viruses on your computer.remove any new installed hard drives or hard drive controllers.check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated.run chkdsk /F to check for hard drive corruption and then restart your computer. the error is as above

tried today the chkdsk /F, don't resolve the problem

Addendum

updated the hd controllers drivers seems working now Win 7 start normal without errors and load fast......I will let you know if also this update don't work.

thank you

bye
