HELP!!!

I just bought the Easy Recovery Essentials for my vista. I dl'd and inserted the disk to my desktop but it is not working properly. It stops at the recovery page then my screen would turn black and nothing happens. Why is that? I need help. I have a laptop but I need my desktop.:ldown::ldown:
