Is this fixable or has my hard drive had it?

My PC tried recovering from the blue screen of death, and has kindly informed me that CLFS.SYS 0xc00000e9, requested file is missing or corrupt.
I don't have a recovery disk, or another PC with a disk drive to burn another, so I have tried to make a recovery USB using a vista recovery ISO on a USB using EasyBCD. I'm not sure if my vista is 32 or 64, so have tried both and set the boot to be via the USB drive.
PC is now stuck on black screen which is stating, among other things, Verifying DMI Pool Data.......Update success.

Any help to get the main PC back on line would be appreciated.
