Restore / rebuild bootloaders using EasyBCD?

#1
Hello,
My mistake , I have done some thing stupid on my multi Boot system x64 .
I had a triple boot working >OK.
1/ Win 8.1 with all usual applications
2/ Win 8.1 with Microsoft Flight Sim FSX Steam Edition
3/ Win 7 pro with Microsoft Flight Sim FSX

After some stupid manipulation I have lost my access to the 2 Win 8.1 environment, only the Win 7 is still available ....
All the data is still available on the different HDDs for the 2 missing win 8.1 environments

Is it possible to rebuild ?
Thanks in advance

Yes, just re-add the entries for Windows 8 from the Add New Entry page.

the Osdevice is "partition=o" instead of "partition=D"

More questions concerning the attachment : there is no resumeobject ?
How to add one .. the good one ...
An other question : the screen shot is not very clear sorry for this :
In my Boot priority menu I have next line after the P5
1.00

What is this 1.00?

Thanks in advance

That's from your BIOS/UEFI's NVRAM. I really have no idea.

As for the resumeobject, that'll be added by Windows when you configure power options, I believe?

Hello Guru,
Thanks for your patience,

I found that the 1.00 is my USB3 key , I do not know why it is 1.00.. I think it is not important ...

I have now ,see first attachment , the 3 systems entries
When I select the Microsoft Windows 7 it is OK . The Win 7 is starting and works perfectly ....

BUT
I I select one of the other entries , see attachments ... I have an error...blue screen

I do not know what to do to activate the 2 Windows 8 , all the files are available except ..?

What are the features behind the "BCD Backup/repair " button in the EasyBCD Tool ??
Canuse the Re-create/repair boot file without loosing access to the Windows 7??

No risks ...please

Thanks in advance
Emile

You cannot boot a newer BCD OS (Vista/7/8/10) from an older.
The older bootmgr module does not recognize a later version of winload as genuine (digital signature)
You need to treat the newest OS as the controlling system (first in the BIOS boot sequence) and add entries to its BCD for the earlier OSs.
Alternatively you must copy the newer (bigger) bootmgr module into the older OS root and replace (or rename) the older smaller version.

Hello Guru,
When I try to boot without chosing a system I receive following error
Hope it helps.
Thanks in advance
I still have my Win 7 Pro X64 installation CD .

What is the risk if I start from it and request "repair"?

Suggestions?
Thanks in advance

Hi
For your information 2 screenshots with the Bootmgr of C driver Win 7 Pro X64 this one works OK.
The Bootmgr of the D Driver where Win 8.1 X64 is installed and that I cannot access.

What do I need to do?
Thanks in advance

Those bootmgrs are not "live".
They're the ones that setup uses to create the "live" one.
It's super-hidden in the OS root (i.e. C:\bootmgr)
and you won't be able to see it without folder options set thus

If you use EasyRE for the newest OS in your configuration, you should be able to use EasyBCD after that to add the rest. But honestly, it should be fairly straightforward to do it yourself without EasyRE.

Hello,
First problem solved : after "repair" using my Win7 pro installation CD I have now direct acces to my Win7 .:glare:

Now NEXT when I select one of the 8.1 entries I get an error

"Cannot verify the digital signature ... winload.exe":rage:

How to create this digital signature or bypass it? ... if possible ..

Thanks in advance

The problem is that you used your Windows 7 CD. If you used your Windows 8 CD instead that would take care of the problem entirely.
