After I completed the Neosmart "nuclear holocaust" series of steps (found on their Recovering the Windows Bootloader page for Vista) I see that there still is no BCD file listed in the directory (DIR) for C:\Boot . Shouldn't there be one ?
The numerous neosmart steps listed on that page all completed successfully except for:
attrib -h -s C:\boot\BCD and del C:\boot\BCD
There never was a C:\boot\BCD file to receive attrib or be deleted...
And if the point of bootrec.exe /rebuildbcd is to create a new C:\boot\BCD file , this is not happening...
Please help !
