Start up problem

Due to problems in dual boot XP and Windows 7 ,was unable to boot XP any more , removed XP and run Win 7 only.

Now I am unable to select Normal start up , when try System Configuration has stopped and Selective start up is selected.

Checking inside the system found rest of boot.ini:

“; This boot.ini was automatically generated by NeoSmart Technologies' BootGrabber.exe

; Use EasyBCD from http://neosmart.net/dl.php?id=2 to manage your bootloader

[boot loader]

timeout=15

default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS

[operating systems]

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Windows XP on F:\" /fastdetect”

Probably such boot .ini should not be present in actual system with only one operate system , which is Windows 7.

My question is what I can do to remove this boot.ini fail , but without risk to compromise Win 7 booting

Are you saying that you are having trouble booting, or just that you've found boot.ini hanging around ?
If the latter, just delete it. It's completely redundant on a system without XP.
