Windows and Ubuntu Dual-boot Problem!

Okay, have a HP Pavilion g7 with dual-core AMD processor - originally came with OEM Windows 8 load - have loaded Windows 7 PRO as did not like 8. Have attempted to do a dual-boot with Ubuntu 12.10, and both appear in the area at startup. I can chose Windows 7 and it launches perfectly. But......

When I launch Ubuntu, I get the following error:

Windows failed to start, please do one of the following:

1. Insert original installation disk
2. Choose language
3. Click repair

File: \NST\AutoNeoGrub0.mbr
Status: 0Xc0000098

Selected entry could not be loaded because application is missing or corrupt

So, believe it may be an Easy BCD problem? At least that is what the Ubuntu folks believe. Need step-by-step help on fixing this so I can dual-boot Windows and Ubuntu. Have an older laptop where this occurs, and need to replace as this laptop is dying.
