The command is only available inside the\u00a0<strong>Windows Recovery Console<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>Synopsis<\/h2>\n<pre><strong>fixboot<\/strong> {<strong>DriveLetter:<\/strong>}<\/pre>\n<h2>Description<\/h2>\n<p>fixboot utility is the Windows 2000 and XP tool used to update the partition bootsector\u00a0code\u00a0which is responsible for loading and running a <strong>NTLDR<\/strong> bootloader.<\/p>\n<p>The options are as follows:<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: .5in;text-indent: -.5in\"><strong>DriveLetter:\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\nUpdates the partition bootsector\u00a0code\u00a0of the partition specified with the drive letter.
