It provides an user with the ability to create a recovery disk of his current Windows setup, so if a problem occurs, there is no need to reinstall the operating system. The user can refresh his Windows machine to the state saved in recovery disk image. The tool works on Windows 8.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"Synopsis\">Synopsis<\/span><\/h2>\n<pre><strong>recimg<\/strong> [\/<strong>createimage<\/strong> | \/<strong>setcurrent<\/strong> | \/<strong>showcurrent<\/strong> | \/<strong>deregister<\/strong>] [<strong>filePath<\/strong>]<\/pre>\n<h2><span id=\"Description\">Description<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The <strong>recimg<\/strong> utility will generate a system image that the user can restore into at any time desired. The image will contain all the system settings as well as all of the software installed by the user. It will not save personal files i.e. documents, photos, music.\u00a0The user can save the image on an external drive or on the system partition. <strong>Refresh<\/strong> utility is the one that is responsible for restoring the system using the images generated by the <strong>recimg<\/strong> utility. The user must have administrator privileges to user the utility.<\/p>\n<p>The options are as follows:<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: .5in;text-indent: -.5in\"><code><strong>\/help<\/strong><\/code><br \/>\nDisplays this help text.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: .5in;text-indent: -.5in\"><code><strong>\/createimage<\/strong><\/code><br \/>\nCreates a new recovery image and sets it as an active recovery image. The active recovery image is a\u00a0image that system will refresh to if the <strong>refresh<\/strong> utility is used. The path of the image is specified by the <code><strong>filePath<\/strong><\/code>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: .5in;text-indent: -.5in\"><code><strong>\/setcurrent<\/strong><\/code><br \/>\nSets the image specified by the <code><strong>filePath<\/strong><\/code> to be the active recovery image. The active recovery image is a\u00a0image that system will refresh to if the <strong>refresh<\/strong> utility is used.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: .5in;text-indent: -.5in\"><code><strong>\/deregister<\/strong><\/code><br \/>\nDeregisters i.e. removes the current active recovery image from being the active one.
