Restore a Samsung computer<\/h2>\n

Windows XP users may have the Samsung Recovery Solution III (3) version installed on their computers. This software is provided by Samsung and installed directly on a computer with Windows XP, at the time of purchase.<\/p>\n
In Recovery Solution III (3), you can choose to perform the following type of restore:<\/p>\n

Basic Restore.<\/strong> Basic Restore reloads all Windows-related files, but leaves your personal files (movies, pictures etc.) intact.<\/li>\n
Complete Restore.<\/strong> Complete Restore overwrites the entire C:\\ drive with a backup image to restore the computer.<\/li>\n
Data Restore.<\/strong> Data Restore restores your user data with any backup data available.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Recovery Solution III (3) allows you to:<\/p>\n

Backup and restore your files<\/li>\n
Backup the entire PC<\/li>\n
Restore your PC to an earlier date from a previously created backup<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
To perform the Basic Restore using Recovery Solution III (3) in Windows XP, follow these steps:<\/p>\n

Go to Start<\/strong><\/li>\n
Go to All Programs<\/strong><\/li>\n
Find the Samsung Recovery Solution III (3)<\/strong> software and open the software

The Complete Restore features restores your computer to the latest available “Complete Restore” made. If you haven’t created a Complete Restore before, it would restore your computer to its initial settings when you first purchased the computer.<\/p>\n
Complete Restore deletes all data from the system! Backup your files.<\/p>\n

Click Yes<\/strong>, at the Licensing Agreement window<\/li>\n
Select Restore<\/strong><\/li>\n
Select Complete Restore<\/strong>

To perform the Data Restore using Recovery Solution III (3) in Windows XP, follow these steps:<\/p>\n

Open the Recovery Solution 3 software by going to Start<\/strong> and then All Programs<\/strong><\/li>\n
Click Restore<\/strong>

At the Restore window, choose the last option: Data Restore

Choose the latest backup available for your computer from the list and what data to restore

Choose if you’d to restore the files to the same location or to a new location

If you’re prompted to overwrite certain files, click Yes<\/strong> to overwrite the mentioned files and use the backup or click No<\/strong> to keep the current files<\/li>\n
At the “Restore completed.” window, click OK<\/strong>

Press the F4<\/kbd> key when the Samsung logo appears on your screen<\/li>\n<\/ol>\nWindows Vista<\/h3>\nIf you don’t have the recovery software provided by Samsung, download our recovery and repair disk for Samsung<\/a>.<\/p>\n Computers from Samsung with Windows Vista usually have the Samsung Recovery Solution 4 software installed.<\/p>\n Recovery Solution 4 has several options for a restore:<\/p>\n \nBasic Restore.<\/strong> This option reloads Windows-related files and keeps your personal files intact.<\/li>\n Complete Restore.<\/strong> This option restores from a previously created Complete Backup.<\/li>\n Data Restore.<\/strong> This option restores a backup created with Data Backup.<\/li>\nSystem Software Installation.<\/strong> This option reloads all Samsung related applications and drivers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\nIf you’re not able to boot into Windows Vista to run Recovery Solution 4, follow these steps:<\/p>\n\nBoot your computer<\/li>\nPress the F4<\/kbd> key when the Samsung logo appears on your screen<\/li>\n<\/ol>\nPerform a Basic Restore using Recovery Solution 4 in Windows Vista with these instructions:<\/p>\n\nRestart your computer<\/li>\n Press the F4<\/kbd> key when the Samsung logo appears<\/li>\n Click Yes<\/strong> to accept the License Agreement<\/li>\n Select Restore<\/strong> \n<\/li>\n Select Basic Restore<\/strong> \n<\/li>\n Click Next<\/strong><\/li>\n Click OK<\/strong> to restart the computer \n<\/li>\n Your computer will restart and the software will relaunch automatically<\/li>\n Accept the License Agreement again and wait for the restore process to finish<\/li>\n When the software finished, select Yes<\/strong> at the “Restart the system?” question<\/li>\nThe process is now complete<\/li>\n<\/ol>\nPerform a Complete Restore using Recovery Solution 4 in Windows Vista with these instructions:<\/p>\n\nBoot your computer and start pressing the F4<\/kbd> key<\/li>\n Accept the License Agreement by selecting Yes<\/strong><\/li>\n Select Restore<\/strong> \n<\/li>\n Select Complete Restore<\/strong> \n<\/li>\n Select what backups you want to restore from the list of available backups<\/li>\n Click OK<\/strong> to restart your computer. The software will relaunch automatically.<\/li>\n After your computer is restarted, the software will open again. Click Yes at the “Start Restore?” question.<\/li>\n Wait for the process to finish<\/li>\n Click OK<\/strong> at the “Restore completed.” window<\/li>\n Your computer will restart<\/li>\nThe restore process is now complete<\/li>\n<\/ol>\nAn additional restart might be needed to apply changes to Windows.<\/p>\n Also, depending on your system, you may receive a “Hyperspace” notification. If fo, follow these tips:<\/p>\n\nChoose Reinstall to overwrite the currently installed Hyperspace<\/li>\n Choose Uninstall to remove Hyperspace from your computer<\/li>\n Click Cancel to leave Hyperspace as it is<\/li>\n<\/ul>\nYou can perform a Data Restore using Recovery Solution 4 in Windows Vista with these instructions:<\/p>\n \nBoot your computer and press the F4 key<\/li>\n Accept the License Agreement<\/li>\n Select Restore<\/strong> \n<\/li>\n Select Data Restore<\/strong> \n<\/li>\n Choose what backup you’d like to restart. If you don’t have any backups created, this list will be empty at this step.<\/li>\n Select your backup and click Next<\/strong><\/li>\n Select what path you want for the backup: Original path<\/em> will restore the backup to its original path, while New path<\/em> will restore the backup to a new location \n<\/li>\n Click Yes<\/strong> to start the process<\/li>\n Wait for the process to finish<\/li>\n Click OK<\/strong> at the “Restore completed.” window<\/li>\n The process is complete<\/li>\n<\/ol>\nPerform a System Software Installation using Recovery Solution 4 in Windows Vista with these instructions:<\/p>\n \nOpen the Recovery Solution 4 software by booting your computer and pressing the F4<\/kbd> key<\/li>\n Accept the License Agreement by clicking Yes<\/strong><\/li>\n Select System Software<\/strong> \n<\/li>\n Choose System Software Installation<\/strong> \n<\/li>\n Select Recommended Items or Minimum-Recommended<\/li>\n Click Install Now!<\/strong><\/li>\n At the “Reboot system?” question, choose Yes<\/strong> and click Finish<\/strong><\/li>\n Your computer will restart<\/li>\n The process is complete<\/li>\n<\/ol>\nWindows 7<\/h3>\nIf you don’t have the recovery software provided by Samsung, download our recovery and repair disk for Samsung<\/a>.<\/p>\n Windows 7 users usually have the Samsung Recovery Solution 5 installed on their computers.<\/p>\n With Samsung Recovery Solution 5 you can restore your computer by choosing any of the two (2) available options:<\/p>\n \nBasic Restore<\/li>\n Complete Restore<\/li>\nData Restore<\/li>\n<\/ul>\nStart a Basic Restore using Recovery Solution 5 in Windows 7 with these instructions:<\/p>\n\nBoot your computer and start Windows 7<\/li>\n Go to Start<\/strong> and find the Samsung Recovery Solution 5<\/strong> folder<\/li>\n Open Samsung Recovery Solution 5<\/li>\n Click Restore<\/strong> \n<\/li>\n Select Basic Restore \n<\/li>\n Click Next<\/strong><\/li>\n Click OK<\/strong> at the “You have to restart the computer to continue.” screen<\/li>\n The software will restart your computer and will reload automatically<\/li>\n Wait for the process to finish<\/li>\n Click Yes<\/strong> to restart the computer once the process is complete<\/li>\nThe restore process is now complete<\/li>\n<\/ol>\nTo start a Complete Restore using Recovery Solution 5 in Windows 7, follow these steps:<\/p>\n\nBoot into Windows 7 and open Samsung Recovery Solution 5 by clicking Start > All Programs<\/strong>. If you can’t boot into Windows 7, press the F4<\/kbd> key at boot when the Samsung logo appears<\/li>\n Click Restore<\/strong> \n<\/li>\n Select Complete Restore<\/strong> \n<\/li>\n Select what backup you want to restore<\/li>\n Click Next<\/strong><\/li>\n Click OK<\/strong> at “You have to restart the computer to continue.”<\/li>\n Your computer restart and the software will relaunch automatically<\/li>\n Click Yes<\/strong> when prompted to delete all data on drive C:\\<\/li>\n Wait for the process to complete<\/li>\n After the process is complete, click OK<\/strong> to restart your computer<\/li>\nThe restore process is now complete<\/li>\n<\/ol>\nTo start a Data Restore using Recovery Solution 5 in Windows 7, follow these steps:<\/p>\n\nBoot into Windows 7<\/li>\n Go to Start<\/strong>, then All Programs<\/strong><\/li>\n Open the Recovery Solution 5 software<\/li>\n Click Restore<\/strong> \n<\/li>\n Click Data Restore<\/strong> \n<\/li>\n Select what backup you’d like to restore and click Next<\/li>\n Select what path you want for this restore. Original path will restore the backup to its original location, while New path will restore the backup to a new location.<\/li>\n Click Yes<\/strong> at the “Do you want to start Restore?” question<\/li>\n Wait for process to finish<\/li>\nClick OK<\/strong> at the “Restore completed.” screen<\/li>\n<\/ol>\nWindows 8<\/h3>\nIf you upgraded to Windows 8<\/h4>\nIf you don’t have the recovery software provided by Samsung, download our recovery and repair disk for Samsung<\/a>.<\/p>\n If you upgraded your system to Windows 8 you need to update the Samsung Recovery Solution 5 to the 5.6 version.<\/p>\n Once updated, you can perform a Complete Restore with Recovery Solution 5.6 for Windows:<\/p>\n \nOpen Recovery Solution 5.6<\/li>\n Click Restore<\/strong> \n<\/li>\n Select Complete Restore<\/strong> \n<\/li>\n Select what backup you want to restore and click Next<\/li>\n Click OK<\/strong> to restart the computer and being the restore process\n<\/p>\n Complete Restore erases all your data from the C:\\ drive. Backup your files before you continue or choose to perform a Data Backup.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Your computer restart and the software will reopen<\/li>\n Wait for the process to finish<\/li>\n Click OK<\/strong> to restart the computer, when prompted<\/li>\nAfter you restart your computer, the process is complete<\/li>\n<\/ol>\nAn additional restart may be required for Windows 8 to apply its own changes.<\/p>\n To perform a Data Restore in Windows 8 using Recovery Solution 5.6, follow these steps:<\/p>\n\nOpen the Recovery Solution 5.6 software<\/li>\n Click Restore<\/strong> \n<\/li>\n Select Data Restore<\/strong><\/li>\n Select the backup to restore<\/li>\n After you made your select, click Next<\/strong><\/li>\n Select the path where to restore the backup: its original location or to a new location<\/li>\n Click Yes<\/strong> at the “Do you want to start Restore?”<\/li>\n Wait for the process to finish<\/li>\nClick OK<\/strong> at the “Restore completed.” screen<\/li>\n<\/ol>\nIf Windows 8 was already installed<\/h4>\nIf you don’t have the recovery software provided by Samsung, download our recovery and repair disk for Samsung<\/a>.<\/p>\n If your Samsung computer already had Windows installed, you can perform a “Recovery” by following the steps below:<\/p>\n \nAt Start, type recovery<\/code>.
