That MBR code in turn loads the bootsector from the active partition. On newer systems, this bootsector code is tasked with loading the\u00a0BOOTMGR\u00a0file, which is\u00a0used to load the operating system kernel and start up Windows. This file is usually\u00a0located in the root directory of the active partition on the first boot drive. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart.<\/li>\n<li>DFJEU is compressed. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart.<\/li>\n<li>VUFEI is compressed. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart.<\/li>\n<li>DGKAR is compressed. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Causes of this Error<\/h2>\n<p>This error has been known to occur as a result of one of the following causes:<\/p>\n<h4><span id=\"Cause_1NTLDR_is_compressed\">Cause 1: BOOTMGR\u00a0is compressed<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>File compression is a feature that allows the user to decrease size of files, folders, and programs, and reduce the amount of space they use on the hard\u00a0drives. However,\u00a0since the system bootsector code lacks the ability to decompress files by itself, the BOOTMGR\u00a0file, which is a key part of booting process,\u00a0should not be compressed.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"Fixing_8220NTLDR_is_missing8221_on_Windows\">Fixing &#8220;BOOTMGR\u00a0is corrupt&#8221;\u00a0on Windows<\/span><\/h2>\n<p class='alert'><strong>Windows Setup CD\/DVD Required!<\/strong><br \/>Some of the solutions below require the use of the Microsoft Windows setup CD or DVD.
