Unable to recover Vista
Hi peeps, I need help to recover my Vista. My laptop came preloaded with Vista and I have already made a recovery disc. I wanted Ubuntu in my laptop too and so it was installed with the dual booting mode. I booted my laptop from the dvd-rom and got into the Ubuntu's installation mode. I partitioned my hard disk (which has the Vista OS) into 2 parts (120gb & 40gb). I used the later part for Ubuntu. After the installation was completed, i restarted the laptop. It went into Ubuntu's "DOS" mode and I cant get into the GUI mode. Worst still, I cant get into Vista. I tried using my recovery disc, but it says that partition isn't found. Please advice. Thanks

Repairing the Windows Vista Bootloader - NeoSmart Technologies Wiki All the documentation here should help you out. It sounds as if the recovery disc was made to restore teh laptop to factory settings. Not what you want to do. there is a option in there to download the Recovyer CD for the boot recovery in there.
