I attempted to install EasyBCD in windows 7 today, and the initial installer view would come up and disappear. I searched all over trying to find a solution, and ended up finding it myself.
DO NOT RENAME THE INSTALLER EXE.
For no good reason, I had renamed it simply "EasyBCD.exe" instead of "EasyBCD 2.4.exe"
Apparently the installer checks the filename, and exits if it doesn't have the 2.4 in it.
I hope this info saves others possible pain in the future.
