Trying to dual boot 2 windows 11 versions (1 old - 1 up-to-date)

I have a legal version of Altium (V15 PCB design) that works with windows 11 (early version). However, I've built a new PC with Windows 11 that's been kept up-to-date. A recent 11 update stopped part of Altium from working correctly!
I've fitted the HD from my previous PC into my new build. I'd like to use EasyBCD to dual boot - but getting confused just how to set it-up.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

Note: The Altium licence allows multiple installs as long as only 1 version is being used at any one time.

To set up dual boot using EasyBCD for Altium, install EasyBCD and ensure your new PC detects both the current Windows 11 drive and the old drive from your previous PC via Disk Management. In EasyBCD, add an entry for the old Windows installation by selecting "Windows Vista/7/8/10" under "Operating Systems", naming it, and choosing the correct drive. Then, go to "Edit Boot Menu", set a default OS, and adjust the timeout. Save the settings, restart, and select the old Windows installation from the boot menu. Once booted, check if Altium works as expected. This allows you to work in a stable environment if a recent Windows 11 update caused issues. Ensure both drives use the same boot mode (UEFI or Legacy BIOS), and back up your data beforehand. Since your Altium license permits multiple installations, this setup is compliant.

Hi Dave, To set up dual boot with EasyBCD, install the software on your new Windows 11 PC. Open EasyBCD, go to "Add New Entry," select the 'Windows' tab, and choose your previous installation. Name the entry and click 'Add Entry.' Finally, check the 'Edit Boot Menu' tab for correct entries. Reboot, and you should see the option to select your desired Windows version. Good luck! I went through the same situation and it is very irritating.

To set up dual boot using EasyBCD, install it and add your old Windows installation by selecting the correct drive and OS type. Adjust the boot menu, save, and restart to choose the old system at startup. This way, you can run Altium in a stable environment if Windows 11 has issues.
