Hi,

PC (W10; single drive) with existing C: partition
Cloned partition and copied back to same drive
Need both instances to retain C: as the drive letter.
Can't seem to work it out with EasyBCD (or bcdedit)
Original partition boots fine; the cloned one appears to select the right partition but won't boot - just black screen

Must be possible as I have done it before on an identical PC, and works just fine
Memory eludes me how I did it though.

Any thoughts appreciated.
Thanks.

W10 & above create two partitions, the second one for system files. The second one should not have a drive letter or if will malfunction. If you require a second operating system to be installed, you have to create another partition on your hard drive.
