Install EasyBCD on every OS?

No, just the main one. Accessing it via Windows Explorer you can make shortcuts on the other OS’s desktops.

Okay thanks. Can I safely remove all the OS boot entries on the second OS and remove the program? Now I have two bootloaders in the bios. I assume the one on the other OS will stay active. Otherwise I won't have a boot menu anymore.

There is no need to remove boot entries. Simply uninstall EasyBCD from the other OS’s. I don’t encourage meddling with actual BCD files in Windows as it can lead to all kinds of trouble.

Hi, I saw this post so thought I would continue on this rather than starting a new thread. I have installed easy BCD on 2 of my windows OS in my partitioned SSD. I have it on my regular C drive (win11) and also on my P drive (win10). I also had a few other bootable partitions but never installed it on those.

So my problem started when I devided to edit easyBCD on P drive, and removed the option for booting P drive in there and just left it to boot into C drive.
When editing easyBCD in C drive, I added all my other partitions like I normally do and then restarted the laptop. To my surprise it booted straight into C drive Win11. I tried this so many times with same result. I tried to reset bcd configuration and also recreate/repair. This never helped.
I tried to restore a backed up file and that never worked.

I have spent all day trying to repait the bcd via command prompt and still in the same position. I think for some reason that P drive is not allowing any changes to the boot.

Problem is I can't boot into P anymore to fix my problem. I also opened easyBCD from P drive in windows explorer but that also didn't help.

This is from cmd promt.

Is there any way I can possibly resolve this? I am hoping I do not have to reinstall windows on C drive again as when I do, it takes google drive about 1 week to upload all my data there.

Thank you

It should be installed only on one drive. You can then go into the other drives and open it & put on your desktop a shortcut to the .exe that’s in the EasyBCD folder.

Thia is something which I didn't know when installing EasyBCD and, in the heat of the process, decided to install the program in all the multiboot OS's. That turned out to be helpful, since I was able to use the program to restore the multiboot after some problems, as long as I was able to boot at least one of the OSs, but it did seem to involve other potential problems.
I also thought that running EasyBCD installed in a different OS might be even more dangerous, so never tried that before.
After reading the above posts, I deided to try this way (using icon links to just one installation), and it worked well with W7-32 and W7-64, but not with XP, since XP doesn't work with v2.4, which is installed on the W7 partitions (didn't even try it in W10 yet).
So, in this case, the "link" procedure doesn't work, and I'm keeping v2.1.2 on XP, and 2.4 on the W7s. Are there other, better, possibilities?
