Dual booting by installing xp after 7.

Configured with EasyBCD 2.1 but bootloader is not showing and is still auto booting me into xp. I have written the MBR data but it seems like its not working.

Suggestions anyone? Thanks in advance.

Default: Windows Vista
Timeout: 5 seconds
EasyBCD Boot Device: D:\
Entry #1
Name: Windows Vista
BCD ID: {default}
Drive: C:\
Bootloader Path: \Windows\system32\winload.exe
Entry #2
Name: Microsoft Windows XP
BCD ID: {d43edb73-d0b9-11e0-afdf-ea77822e403c}
Drive: D:\
Bootloader Path: \NST\ntldr

ps: is it supposed to be windows vista when auto detected?

edit: might want to add on that the three steps detailed in this link are already tried. and that when I try to recreate boot files it says that "the option is only available on vista, 7 and server 2008".

You selected "Install Vista/7 bootloader" before clicking "write MBR." ?
Is Vista set "active" ? If not set it active in Disk Management before rebooting.
Are the OSs on different HDDs ? If so make sure you're booting from the right one in the BIOS boot sequence.
