Add XP to existing Win7 and Win8 Dual Boot

Hi
I am currently dual booting Win8 and Win7 via the Win8 Boot Manager.
I need to install XPPro as a means of running a legacy firewire recording interface.
I understand that if I install XP I will overwrite the current boot partition.
I need to be sure that if I set up EasyBCD within XP that I will be able to regain access to Win8 and Win7.
Any guidance and pre-warning of likely pitfalls would be much appreciated.

Are you installing XP to a separate HDD ?
If so, just do it with W7/8 disconnected, and then reconnect 7/8 afterwards and reset the BIOS to boot from there.
Then from 7/8 use EasyBCD with auto-configure to find and setup the XP triple boot for you.
