Association for .swf files cannot be found

Before reinstalling windows vista due to a problem i could click on a swf file and it would open in a flash window with "Macromedia flash player" at the title bar. But now even afrter installing flash player, the swf file would not open and a "Open with" dialog box appears. so whenever i need to open flash files i need to open my browser firefox.
is there a way to make it open flash.

i am going to try to make it open with c:\windows\system32\macromed\flash.ocx

Right click a SWF file.
Open with/choose default program/ browse to c:\windows\system32\macromed\flash.ocx (tick always use selected program)/hit enter

You can't open anything with *.ocx files, only with exe.

OCX is an extension used by ActiveX and COM to run rich media, but cannot be executed directly.

You need to open/associate the SWF with Flash Player.

Sorry, just cut and pasted delvin's reference without even looking at the filetype !
Just substitute a proper flash viewer during the "browse"
