before I mess up- installing xp after vista on two harddrives

Would it be possible for someone to write a basic walk through or guide for me?

I have vista installed on my computer and a spare harddrive I would like to use for XP. I tried doing it on my own a few weeks ago and gave up. Now I am ready to try it again and I dont want to go through the frustration of last time.

btw, the guides section of your website has succumb to linkrot/ was never finished
