Here are the disk status as they now stand.
Disk 0 / Original Hard drive with Vista install
VHP BOOT (N: SYSTEM, ACTIVE, PRIMARY / Original Vista install on original HD
VHP DATA(E: LOGICAL / Original non system partition on first HD.
Disk 1 / New hard drive with Win7 installed.
WIN7 BOOT (C: BOOT, ACTIVE, PRIMARY
WIN7 DATA (D:
Background is standard clean install of win7 on a new hard drive with the original vista install in place. This worked successfully and allowed dual booting to either OS with the boot manager on disk 0. I now want to do the next step which is to the move the boot loader to disk 1 on the win7 boot partition in prep to not needing to dual boot. However I do not want to format disk 0 with the Vista install yet.
I got easybcd with the intention of using it to do this however that and manualing following the bcdboot procedures I have been unable to change the location of the bootloader. I got now errors when using the move boot feature but each time I reboot disk 0 is still the system partition.
Here are the settings from the view.
