bootmgr missing

New Member
I am using an hp pavilion elite e9220y desktop which got a virus last week. I use avg antivirus software which did not solve the problem so I went to system restore and was going to make my backup disks but that was taking 29 disks so I thought I could back out and continue backup to an external.......wrong now I get the bootmgr missing pres ctrl alt delete message and cannot use my disks that I originally made when I bought the computer with a what I thought would be a clean install when I had a crash. I cant boot from my cd drive to the disk to get back to system recovery. Dont know if this is enough info or not but any help would be appreciated. I SHOULD BE SHOT for not backing up my files> PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN

Can you check your bios setting to see if your cd drive is still set to boot? It sounds like the virus messed up your bios settings.
