um, nevermind.
I used a win 7 recovery disk, it automatticly noticed the mbr was messed up for my win 7, and asked if i wanted to fix it.
I said yes, it reboot me back to xp, and i decided to try the easybcd program again, and this time stuff wasn't greyed out.
go figure. =)
