Can't boot to XP

I've got a dual boot setup with Windows 7 (64-bit) and Windows XP (32-bit). The degault OS in teh dual boot is Win7. I have EasyBCD installed in XP. Recently, after I installed a new video card, I started having problems booting to XP, with frequent BSODs and hangs. Obviously I need to get into XP safe mode, but when I try to access safe mode from boot via F8, it gives me safe mode in Win7 (because this is the default OS I guess). Of course, I can't access EasyBCD in XP to change this, since I keep getting BSODs. So my questions are:

1: how can I access safe mode of an OS other than the default?
2: can I install EasyBCD in Win7? and if so will this pick up the current configuration?
3: will EasyBCD work in Win7 64-bit

Hopefully somebody can help with these questions. Many thanks in advance for any help.

Cheers

Dave

1) Select XP from the boot menu then immediately start tapping F8 to interrupt the chain from bootmgr to NTLDR. That will enter the NTLDR extended menu. Any earlier gets bootmgr's as you found.
2) Yes and yes (use the latest build of EasyBCD 2.0)
3) Yes
