Can't boot Ubuntu

Hi Experts,

On a VirtualBox disk I have Installed WinXP, Vista and Ubuntu 7.04 (in that order). In EasyBCD I added a new Linux/BSD GRUB entry pointing to the drive marked by EasyBCD as "Linux Native". When trying to boot the new entry the machine freezes with the following error message:

"Bootpart 2.6 Bootsector (c) 1993-2005.....
Loading new partition
Bootsector from C.H. Hochstatter"

I * can * boot the Ubuntu installation using Super Grub CD.

Any Ideas on why the EasyBCD entry can't boot linux?

Thanks

Hi ForeverNoob, welcome to NeoSmart Technologies.

Instead of bothering with all this, just try to download the latest EasyBCD 1.61 beta (from the stickied thread) and press the "GRUB isn't installed to the bootsector" checkbox before adding the Ubuntu entry.

Should work.

Good luck

Glad to hear it

If you find any bugs or have any ideas for the next release, please post ASAP. EasyBCD 1.61 is going gold really soon.

how to add, though?

How, but, to add the Ubuntu entry? I can't get the hang of it I'm ashamed to say :openmouth:/
