Cloned Win7 partition boots from Win7 source partition

Hi,

on a multi-boot disk containing Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8.1 and 10 managed by EasyBCD I cloned the partition containing a running Win7 system (source partition) to empty disk space on the same disk using EaseUS Partition Master 13.8. This created a new logical partition on the disk containing a clone of the source partition. I made a new entry in EasyBCD for the clone. However, when I select the clone to start up it boots from the source partition providing me with the original Win7 system.
How must the cloned Win7 system be configured to boot as expected and not to boot the original Win7 system?

Thanks and best regards

Shalom

Can you post the contents of EasyBCD "view settings" and a screenshot of your Disk Management after you've attempted to boot the clone.

Thanks for your response.

In German, "startpartition" = "boot"

Disk Management flags have the following meanings

"boot" = "this is the system you're running"
"system" = "this is where I found the boot files for the currently running system"
"active" (on the first HDD in the BIOS boot sequence) = "this is where I started the search for the boot files"
"active" (on subsequent HDDs in the BIOS boot sequence) ="this is where I will look if I don't find something in the MBR on the first HDD"
This indicates that you are in fact running your cloned W7.

Hi Terry,

thank you very much for your most helpful response.

Yes, I'm logged-into the cloned W7. However, quite naturally, the login-process utilizes the same procedures/credentials as the source W7: some environmental variables point to the source W7, others pont to the cloned W7. My idea to run the cloned system from the same disk as the source system was horribly wrong.

Thanks again and kind regards

Shalom
