Please:
Dealing with both Mac and Windows here, methinks.
Wanting to get individual tunes out of iTunes Library over to an external drive so I can copy them into different programs on my PC.
Everything found on www is about copying the entire library by "simply" dragging the iTunes Media file over to the DEVICES:external drive file.
Doesn't work; any attempt to drag from iTunes results in a circle/slash icon indicating "nope".
Any info about how to accomplish what I'm wanting?
Many thanks. Appreciated.

From a Google search I would install the Apple Music app from Microsoft Store:
In Windows, you can either use the Apple Music app (for Windows 10 and later) or, if you still have iTunes installed, use it directly. The Apple Music app is the recommended method for Windows 10 and above.
Using the Apple Music app:
Install the Apple Music app: Download and install the Apple Music app from the Microsoft Store.
Sign in: Sign in with your Apple ID.
Access your library: Your iTunes music library will be available within the Apple Music app.
Play music: Double-click a song, album, or playlist to play it.
Using iTunes (if still installed):
Open iTunes: Launch the iTunes application on your Windows PC.
Select Music: Choose "Music" from the pop-up menu in the top left.
Navigate to Library: Click on "Library".
Play music: Double-click a song, album, or playlist to play it.
Use controls: Use the iTunes controls to shuffle, repeat, change the order of songs, and more.
