Corrupt boot sector

I have a compaq SR2175X tower We tried repairing using the Vista recovery disc and it comes up and says there is a corrupt boot sector anyone know if there is any way to fix this?

Do startup repair from the Vista recovery disc...

Tried doing repair from recovery disc..... no luck at all

In a command prompt window:

chkdsk c: /f

Check out step 4 for repairing the Vista bootloader manually in our wiki.

Or run:

chkdsk /r

in the Command Prompt while booted in Vista, and schedule it to run on next boot, and then reboot, and it will run a disk check, and *attempt* to repair any problems it finds! :brows:

That would be nice if bewitched could boot into Vista...
But yes /r is better, but will take a long time.

Oh, right...:shame: Then in that case, run:

chkdsk c: /r

Simple enough.
