Hello all,

Here it provides instruction for creating a new user profile and then copying the user files from a corrupted profile over to the new profile. It instructs to copy all except for 3 or 4 of them which likely are the corrupted files, and paste them into the new profile.

Work it work if I just deleted those 3 or 4 corrupted files from the corrupted user profile, copied the three or four from the new and just pasted those into the old profile?

Thanks for any advice

While directly deleting suspected corrupted files from the old user profile might work, it carries a higher risk of data loss and system instability. Creating a new profile and selectively copying files is generally safer. If you proceed with direct deletion, back up your data beforehand.

While directly deleting suspected corrupted files from your old user profile and pasting the corresponding files from a new profile could work as a faster fix, it's riskier than the recommended method of creating a new profile and selectively copying data. You might not identify all corrupted files, hidden corruption could remain, profile integrity paturnpike might be compromised, and permission issues could arise. The safer and more reliable approach is usually to build a clean new profile and carefully transfer your personal data and settings, leaving behind the potentially damaged system files of the old profile. Always back up your data before attempting either method.
