Hello- I need to see if I canget some help from someone who understands this much more then I do. I have a Toshiba Satalite laptop that is not loading Windows all of a sudden. I really need to make sure I can recover the files on this laptop (if nothing else) so I tried to us the Ubuntu operatinf system to copy the files before trying to reapir the problem with Windows 7.
That didn't work and it was suggested that I try to do a chkdsk /f command to repair it.
In order to do that I downloaded the windows repair disk from neo. I have been able to figure out how to load from the cd and get to the windows command prompt.

I am able to do the bootrec.exe successully.

However, the
bootsect.exe /nt60 all/force & the bootsect.exe /nt60 c: /force results in the following error:
c: <\\?\Volume{dd551a49-7795-11e1-8b4b-806e6f6e6963}>
Could not open the volume root directory:
The parameter is incorrect.
No bootcode was successfully updated.

I'm a beginner at this and just trying to avoid lossing my files and repair the windows.
Any suggestions on how to get past this error and move forward?
Thank you
