creative sound blaster live 5.1 digital

I have Windows Vista Ultimate installed on my DT and have a Creative > labs sound blaster live 5.1 digital sound card. I believe it was a Dell OEM product, but am not 100% sure.

I have downloaded the ngoHQ modded driver for this card. I did a right mouse click on the downloaded file, checked the XP compatibility mode box and did the installation. Restarted my computer and went to the control panel as per the installation instructions. I then went to `sound properties`. When I checked the `digital output only` box for the speakers properties, the card stopped producing sound. Also after rebooting there wasn't sound. Apparently the card didn't pick up the modded driver. Does somebody know what I have done wrong?

was there sound prior to selecting that check box?
If so, it's because you don't have digital speakers, just analog.

Delete the Sound Card from the Device Manager, then do it all over again; this time don't check the digital audio button

Cheers!
