disappearing bios setup with windows 7

My new machine was loaded with vista, as part of the deal it came with a windows 7 upgrade. Which was sent for and loaded onto my machine. I can no longer boot fro the cd/dvd drive. What is worse is cannot seem to get to the bios set up menu.
What am I missing???
