Dual Boot current Win 7 with Ubuntu 9.10

Has anyone had any success with dual booting a currently running version of Win 7 Ultimate with Ubuntu 9.10? If so, care to share your steps?

From what I have read, it isn't difficult...but always follows with a warning of turning your box into a large paperweight.

Looking forward to hearing success stories...

Make sure grub2 installs to the Linux partition, not the MBR. (advanced options)
Install EasyBCD 2.0 latest build on W7
Add a Linux entry to the BCD
select grub2 from the dropdown
EasyBCD will auto-configure.
