Dual Boot setup question. Vista/Linux

Sorry if this has been brought up before, I tried looking around a little.
I don't really know much about computers, but I'm trying to dual boot Vista with Linux and when the boot screen comes up, I choose Linux and then it takes me to a black screen and it tells me about some sort of commands and to press "TAB" to bring up the commands. Here is where I am lost. Please help.

did you create dual entries with EasyBCD? I think Linux has its own built in boot manager if I remember.

However you might have to repairs Vista bootmgr

I dont even know.

I went and added Grub from linux on the Add/Remove Entry page and that was all.

What distro of Linux did you use? For Ubuntu follow the directions in the Wiki here:

That will give you directions on how to add Linux to the BCD using EasyBCD.
